Press Release
Stahl Cranes - Modernization of lifting equipment - Increase your productivity!
- Often the requirements for the installed crane technology change due to changed operating procedures
- The usual design life for cranes is 20 years. For hoists and crane components 10 years.
- Often, the specific replacement of components is also more economical than replacing an entire crane system.
New liquefied gas terminals in China
Some more LNG wire rope hoists from STAHL CraneSystems in action
China is continuously expanding its energy production, but is also progressively reliant on energy imports to meet its rising demand for energy. The People’s Republic is focussing increasingly on importing liquefied natural gas (LNG).
Defying wind and weather Renewing a crane system for outdoor use
With the modernisation of a crane system, Stahlbau Schauenberg increased the logistical capacity of an expanded external warehouse at the site in Ihringen in South Baden. More positive results of the project conducted by Innokran, the crane partner of STAHL CraneSystems, include significant time savings, e.g., when loading and unloading lorries, as well as increased flexibility and enhanced safety when transporting material.
Steel meets concrete
Crane technology from STAHL CraneSystems enables quick and safe stacking and loading of heavy steel plates at one of the world’s leading developers of industrial production plants for concrete elements.
The company EBAWE in Eilenburg near Leipzig develops, manufactures and installs production plants for the industrial manufacture of a wide variety of concrete elements. Steel pallets of all types and sizes are moved using a semi- automatic pallet crane which stacks and loads the manufactured pallets for the concrete industry – the crane technology for this comes from STAHL CraneSystems.
Symbiosis of wood and steel
New crane systems for the Nebelhornbahn (Nebelhorn Cable Railway)
This isn’t the sort of project you get every day, particularly when it concerns the location of solutions. Hubert Schmid Bauunternehmen, crane construction partners of STAHL CraneSystems, received the order for the design and assembly of a total of four crane systems, which are intended for maintenance work in the stations of the Nebelhornbahn in the Allgäu Alps. Next to the time, logistical, and construction-related challenges, architectural features had to be considered.
The right chemistry
Scheffer Krantechnik GmbH and STAHL CraneSystems renew a crane system at Marl Chemical Park.
The Marl Chemical Park is one of the largest chemical sites in Germany and also the largest product site of Evonik Industries. The huge complex covers an area of more than six square kilometres and provides around 10,000 jobs. Petrochemical raw materials, which can be found in numerous products of daily life, are transformed here.
Turning one into three A powerful crane on its travels
In autumn 2015, the certified partner of STAHL CraneSystems, Stahl Cranes & Hoists, based in Johannesburg, South Africa, received a special order: A two beam bridge crane fitted with STAHL CraneSystems equipment was to be manufactured in Johannesburg and then transported by land and sea to Ghana, more than 10,000 km away. As so often, a carefully conceived special option had to be developed in order to make this project possible.
Crane in a box
High-performance cranes, easy to ship and install
To meet the growing demand for European-quality cranes across Africa, STAHL CraneSystems developed the “Crane in a box” concept. The modular design allows cranes with spans up to 22 m and capacities up to 50 t to be packed into a 40-foot container for easy transport and fast on-site assembly – plug-and-play crane technology, wherever you need it.
Smart load handling
A 100 t crane tailored to its environment
For logistics experts Spedition Kübler, STAHL supplied hoisting technology for a custom-built 100 t crane. Designed with precise load monitoring, sector-specific safety controls and an AS 7 twin hoist, the system adapts to varying building load zones – ensuring both structural integrity and top-tier lifting performance with double safety.
Powerful twin hoist
Higher, stronger, safer with the AS 7 ZW
With a compact design and lifting capacity of up to 125 t, the AS 7 twin wire rope hoist combines two hoists into a single robust unit. Ideal for precise, heavy-duty operations, it offers increased speed, higher lifting heights, and is also available in explosion-protected versions for use in sensitive environments like mines or chemical plants.
