Hoisting Equipment makes lifting of objects safe, fast and convenient.

Electric hoists

Electric hoists are the most used hoist type in South Africa, helping to improve efficiency across diverse industries and applications.

There are two types of electrical hoists that we offer at Stahl Cranes:
• Electric Wire Rope Hoists
• And Electrical
Chain Hoists

Our advisers will help you select the best Electrical Hoists and hoisting equipment for your needs, considering the following:

  • Required capacity
  • Lifting speed
  • The height of lift
  • The type of material being lifted and work environment.
  • Duty cycle
  • Budget
  • guarantee
  • Why use an electrical hoist?

    • can handle 150kg to 10t loads (light to heavy)
    • offer the highest level of build quality,
    • suited to a broad range of applications.
    • inexpensive compared to cranes.
    • hassle-free
    • easily operated with simple controls.
    • high-efficiency,
    • affordable cost even in demanding conditions
    • ensure a smooth and steady vertical lift
    • high degree of precision
  • How do electric Hoists work?

    • Electric hoists have an induction motor and a brake to ensure the load is held when lifting (enabling heavy objects/loads to be lifted safely). The motor converts electrical energy into mechanical energy which can then lift the load/weight.
    • The motor has a brake that has an interlocking mechanism in combination with a motor that operates in a unique way. When the electric chain hoist is in operation the energy supply to the brake will be released, but when the motor is off the supply is automatically provided and the brake resumes to ensure that the crane load can be held.

Manual lifting equipment

Why choose a manual chain block?

A manual
Chain block is safer for vertical lifting. For a chain block, the load is secured with a hook and lifted by pulling on a chain.

A manual
chain block is great for lifting large loads over a distance where speed is not a factor. Used to move a small load over a large distance, or a large load over a short distance with hoisting equipment.

  • Common Applications include:

    • Lifting pipes and beams

    • keeping pipes in place for welding or bolting.

    • Precision lifting of turbines

    • often used in the energy industry as a coal gun hoist.

    • Used to Lift pumps, generators, geysers, and other heavy equipment in factories.

    • Lift high-level loads in construction sites.

    • Remove automobile engines.

    • Lift items from conveyor belts in factories.

    • Useful in agriculture to help with moving equipment and harvests.

  • How Many Types of Chain Blocks Are There?

There are 3 types of manual chain blocks:

    • Fitted with a top hook

    • Push trolley

    • Geared trolley

  • How To Rate Your Chain Block’s Operation?

Make sure you get lifting equipment that:

    • Prevents canting or jamming of the hand chain.

    • Runs smoothly between the pulled chain, the load chain, and drive pinion.

    • Has a fully enclosed alloy housing.

    • 360-degree rotating hand chain guide for operating the hoist in confined spaces.
